With the increasing number of cases in India, the country has seen the highest rise in COVID 19 cases of 9,971 that has taken the total number of positive cases to 2,46,628. Now India has left behind Spain and has become the fifth worst-affected country in the world.
The
country that was once praised by the world about its efforts in
controlling the spread is now listed in the top 5 worst-affected
countries by COVID 19.
The Unlock
There
have been controversies raging across India about the unlock that has
been declared by the Central Government keeping in mind the economic
condition of the country. The number of COVID 19 positive cases is
rising each passing day and in midst of this, the Central has declared
opening up of the malls, restaurants, and other public places so that
the economic damage done in the last 2-3 months can be restored back.
But of
course, in the trial of bringing back the economic balance, the unlock
is risking the lives of many people. The traveling to offices and other
places through public transport will soon start and this will increase
the chance of the infection spread.
How to stay safe?
Though
things are opening up in India to bring life back to normal, things
cannot get back to normal so soon unless a proper medication for COVID
19 is not introduced. So, till the time, any drug or vaccine is not
coming up for the rescue, it is important that people do take care of
themselves by following the preventive measures that the World Health
Organization has prescribed.
The Government of India has also
come up with a set of guidelines that the citizens should follow to
stay safe even when the lockdown is ended.
- Avoid going out in public if you do not have any important or necessary work.
- Public transports are advised to carry only that amount of passengers that can maintain social distancing in the vehicle.
- Always wear a mask while going out or even while meeting someone from outside.
- Wash your hands or at least use sanitizer regularly.
- Maintain social distancing while talking to someone.
- Restaurants and other food industries are instructed to maintain proper hygiene for food safety.
- Practice proper hygiene such as washing fruits and vegetables before using them. Also, sanitize every item that you bring home from outside.
These
preventive measures will surely help people in controlling the spread
while maintaining the regular activities of life. Apart from these
preventive measures, you should eat healthy and nutritious food so that
you can have a strong immunity to fight any kind of infection that hits
you. Also, if you notice any kind of symptoms of COVID 19 in
you, get yourself quarantined at home for a week so that you do not
spread out the infection to someone else. If the symptoms
increase beyond a week, you should definitely call up the COVID 19
helpline number of get a test done so that proper measures can be
taken.
