Dear Sir,

Appointment of Clerical Candidates of IBPS – IX

We draw your kind attention towards our letter dated 25th May 2020 on the above-
mentioned subject in which we pointed out that the allotment by IBPS had already become
late due to abnormal situation of countrywide lockdown and accordingly the completion of
formalities such as verification of documents, medical fitness by adhering to social distancing
norms and then mandatory training would take further long time in releasing the
appointment orders to the candidates. Hence, we suggested that this time, instead of sending
for mandatory training, the candidates would be advised to report directly to the allotted
branch for joining their duties in the Bank and the induction training could be imparted to
them at an opportune time after restoration of normalcy from COVID-19.
Although we are yet to know whether our suggestion has been accepted by the
Management or not, however, we have come to know that the Management decided to start
the process for appointing the candidates only after 30.06.2020. In this connection, we would
like to put forward following specific suggestions for your positive consideration so that the
process of handing over the appointment orders will be smooth for the Management and
anxiety free for the candidates to a great extent in a situation when the number of infection
of COVID-19 is increasing day by day.

1. Documents verification centres may be distributed among all the Regional Offices and
candidates are to be allotted a centre nearest to their places of residence. Even after
this, instead of asking all the candidates to report at a particular time, they can be
called at different time slot so that the candidates will be required to remain in the
centre for limited period of time.

2. Instead of asking candidates for medical test by Bank’s approved doctor, they can be
asked to get their test done from a doctor in their locality and get a medical certificate
in a format prepared and sent by the Bank. This will also curtail avoidable expenditure
to a great extent.

3. As already requested earlier, instead of sending candidates for mandatory training
before sending them to the allotted branches, they can be sent to the branches
directly after receiving the appointment order. Training can be imparted at a laterdate. This will reduce the expenditure for mandatory training to ‘nil’ and the
candidates will also not be pushed into a large gathering.

4. While deciding posting of the new candidates, the extant guidelines for posting given
by the Government of India for married / unmarried female employees and
handicapped employees are to be taken into active consideration.

5. Before allotting branches to the new candidates, those employees who are already in
receipt of inter State / intra State transfer orders, higher assignment orders have to be
invariably relieved from their present places of posting and also remaining request
transfer cases wherever vacancies exist are to be positively considered and effected,
vacancies in posts of higher assignment are also to be effectively filled up.
We feel that if the process for appointing the candidates is meticulously taken up
immediately, the same may be smoothly completed within the month of July 2020 and by thef first week of August 2020 the new candidates will be able to report to their allotted branches.

We hope that the Management will not mind to accept our suggestions.
